Eligibility Criteria for B.Pharm Odisha

Citizenship : Candidate must be a resident of Odisha.

Academic Qualification for B.Pharm

  • Candidate must have Passed or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Odisha or equivalent in 2016 with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics / Biotechnology / Biology / Technical Vocational Subject.
  • Candidate must have obtained an aggregate of 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ST category) and also have to passed in all subjects individually.
  • Age Limit: No upper age limit to appear for OJEE 2016.

Academic Qualification for BHMS and BAMS

  • Candidate must have Passed or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Odisha or equivalent in 2016 with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (Botany and Zoology).
  • Candidate must have obtained an aggregate of 50% marks (40% in case of SC/ST category).
  • Age Limit: The lower age shall be 17 years and the upper age shall be 25 years as on December 31, 2016 (upper age limit may be relaxed by five years for SC/ST candidates).

Lateral Entry Into 2nd year Degree courses in Pharmacy and B. Tech:

  • Academic qualification (Pharmacy): Passed or appearing in 2016 diploma examination in two years diploma course after Class 12 in Pharmacy with minimum 45% (40% in case of candidate belong to SC / ST category) of marks in aggregate from Odisha State Board of Pharmacy (OSBP) or SCTE&VT or from an AICTE approved Institution / from a recognized University as defined by UGC for direct admission to the third semester degree courses.
  • Academic Qualification (B. Tech): ¬†Passed or appearing in 2016 diploma examination in two years Diploma Course after Class 12 in Engineering/Technology/Architecture with 45% (40% in case of candidate belong to SC / ST category) of marks in aggregate from¬†Odisha State Board of Pharmacy (OSBP) or SCTE&VT or from an AICTE approved Institution / from a recognized University as defined by UGC for direct admission to the third semester degree courses.
  • Domicile: Students from state domicile and from outside the state who have chosen to prosecute their study for the qualifying examination in an Institute in Odisha having approval from the competent authority are eligible for admission under Lateral Entry.
  • No reservation of seats: No reservation of seats in lateral entry to degree Pharmacy courses. The candidates who is a native of Odisha must submit the Residence Certificate (Appendix-I) at the time of document verification. The candidate has to submit the Residence certificate in the prescribed format i.e., Appendix-I issued not earlier than January 2016.
  • Age Limit: There is no Age Criteria for admission to these courses.

B-Pharma or Bachelor of Pharmacy is an academic degree offered at the undergraduate level in India. This qualification is the fundamental requirement for getting the license to work as a pharmacist. If the students are interested to pursue higher studies on pharmacy in India like M.Pharma (Master of Pharmacy), then they will have to pass the B.Pharm examination.
